Meet Dharambir Kamboj

From being a rickshaw puller in New Delhi to becoming an organic farming expert and an innovator, it has been an amazing journey for this farmer from Damla village in Haryana.

Every person who understands farming and the market says, “If You have to earn From agriculture, sell your products, not grains.” Flour instead of wheat,
then juice and jam instead of fruit. But how will this work, the machines for this sort of work are found expensive. But there are some farmers who have
broken expensive machine dependency. Dharamvir Kamboj, who hails from Haryana, not only walked this path himself but also employed thousands of farmers with his own jugaad machines. His own business today is in lakhs and he is a successful entrepreneur and farmer trainer.

When he was in Class VII, he used to make small heaters from old tin cans and coils and sell them for Rs 15.

Dharmveer Kamboj, a resident of Dangla village in Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana, earns between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 1 crore a year, but once he used to ride rickshaws on the streets of Delhi day and night. But one day he returned home and started organic farming. Then started processing vegetables grown in his own fields, and made machines for that. But the journey from rickshaw puller to millionaire was not so easy. Talking about zhe journey till he became a millionaire,

Dharambir says, “I hadn’t studied enough that one would get a job, so left the village and started driving a rickshaw in Delhi. It was also difficult to drive a rickshaw and mange home expense from that. Once I had an accident that made me return to my village”

After coming home, he did not get any work for several months and stayed at home. Once he went to Ajmer in Rajasthan, where he got information about making Amla sweets and rose water. Dharamvir says, “Once the tour of the farmers of our village went to Ajmer, there I saw that women were making Amla sweets, I thought I would do the same,But to make it, I have to grate carrot or gooseberry, so there was a fear of peeling the hand, in anual production, it could not be easy on the manual. Then I thought of making a machine that would make my job easier.

Today, Dharamvir does organic farming completely, but he does not sell his crop in the market, rather he started selling processed food product in the market. For this, he has created a multipurpose processing machine for which many types of products are processed.

He explains, “With this machine, one can process two quintals of aloe vera juice in one hour and from the peel that is left, they make products like hand wash, aloe vera gel, and many other fruits like amla, guava, strawberry are processed with this machine. carrots, ginger, garlic are also processed.

This machine of one and a half lakh rupees was later patented as well. With this machine, the work of peeling, harvesting, boiling and juice of vegetables
is done. Kamboj, who was awarded the National Form Scientist Award in the year 2010, said that he prepares extracts of basil oil, soybean milk,
turmeric as well as rose water, cumin oil, papaya and jamun jam.

Apart from extracting guava juice, they also make ice cream and guava toffee.Kamboj, who was awarded the National Award in the field of food processing in the year 2013, said that his machine runs with single phase electricity and also has a system to control the speed of the motor so that it can be used as per the need. They have sold 250 machines so far. Of these, 20 machines have
been given to Africa and eight to Nepal. Most of the machines have been sold to the Self Help Group.
